Hampton Inn & Suites Mission Viejo

Honestly one of the worst hotel experiences ever. First of all, my boyfriend and I arrived earlier than his parents, who booked the reservation, and we were immediately told we cannot check in without the person who reserved it. We decided to sit outside for a bit since it was a nice day and we just needed to figure out where to go to pass the time. The same employee came outside and told us we can't sit outside because it "looks weird" as if we were loiterers. Mind you there was not even a bench outside so we had to sit on the ground. Not very hospitable. Every time housekeeping came, our room key would deactivate so we were forced to get new keys. Major inconvenience. Also I don't understand why they go to the lengths of wearing masks at the front desk and standing behind a glass divider if all guests are forced to touch the same soap dispensers since they bolt them to the wall instead of giving every guest free samples. Also good luck sleeping in the same bed as someone if you book a queen. It's a full size comforter on a queen size bed. Overall unsatisfied.

Recently stayed here for a wedding. The facility was very nice, updated, and clean. Staff was very nice, parking was plenty. Their complimentary breakfast was the best food I’ve ever seen a hotel offer. I was very surprised! Rooms we clean and bathrooms were nice. They have full sized shampoo/conditioner mounted in the shower instead of the itty bitty ones hotels usually offer so that was a plus also. Overall very pleased. Great stay

Great hotel option close to the beach! We stayed 4 nights and had a great experience - except for the first night when someone called us in for noise 🙄 we literally set up the sofa bed and the bar from the bed hit the ground once - staff came up to give us a warning. If you have kids I’d recommend requesting the first floor so you’re not worried about kids being too loud. Breakfast was great! Different hot food every morning - eggs, sausage, bacon, French toast, potatoes, omelets, 3 different waffle flavors - were some of the options while we were there for 4 days. Other options that were there every day - bagels, toast, muffins, cold cereal, oatmeal, waffles, juice, hard boiled eggs, yogurt. Pool and hot tub were great! No complaints! Lots of towels and late hours (10 pm). Fitness center was also available, although we didn’t use. Not a lot of parking available in the front, especially if you come in later in the evening, but often found parking by the door in the back. Hotel felt safe and in a good area - close to the freeway. Overall would stay again!
